Tree Climber/Pruner

General Description: Westchester County’s Department of Parks, Recreation & Conservation is seeking a full time Tree Climber/Pruner.
The Tree Climber/Pruner is responsible for the maintenance, pruning, trimming, and felling of mature trees.
Benefits package includes medical, dental, pension plan, tuition reimbursement & paid overtime when necessary.
Rotating Shifts – May be required to work weekends, holidays depending on emergencies.
Requirements: HS or equivalency diploma & 4 years work experience or 6 years work experience
MINIMUM 1 YEAR OF TREE CLIMBING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Good knowledge of the practices, materials, &methods used in tree felling, trimming, & surgery
Ability to climb using ropes and work at considerable height under dangerous conditions
Ability to operate machinery such as chainsaws, bucket trucks, brush chippers, & stump grinders
Must possess & maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License
