Urban and Community Forestry Nursery Specialist

The National Reforestation, Nurseries, and Genetic Resources (RNGR) Team is conducting an
outreach for and Urban and Community Forestry Nursery Specialist that will provide RNGR
related technical assistance to urban source nurseries and tree planting projects, with a focus
on creating diverse insect and disease resistant urban canopies using native species where
possible and practical. There is also an opportunity with this position to reach and educate
urban publics. This position will be advertised and filled along with the other RNGR Team
nursery specialist vacancies for which we previously conducted an outreach. This position
will serve a national role on the RNGR team along with the regional, tribal, tropical and
nursery pest specialist positions.
RNGR Nursery Specialist positions are RNGR Team members and work across Forest Service
deputy areas, serving as a recognized regional, national, and international technical authority
for forest and conservation nursery production and field establishment practices.
