Assessing Tree-Related Operational Risk Webinar

Host: Duntemann Urban Forestry, LLC

Tree-related risk takes on several forms for a tree-care company, organizations or agencies that manage systems of trees.  These can be categorized into four types of risk: harm, fiscal loss, loss of credibility and loss of productivity.  While the industry tends to focus, understandably, on managing the risk of harm, a comprehensive risk management plan addresses the interrelatedness of all four risk types.  This webinar is focused on identifying, analyzing, and addressing the risk to staff attributed to tree-related operations.

The full course will include discussions on the following topics:

  • The International Standards Organization’s ISO 31000 – Risk Management Guidelines as it applies to operational risk.
  • How tools in the International Standards Organization’s ISO 31010 – Risk Assessment Techniques guidance document provides methods for assessing operational risk exposure.
  • A review of Qualitative and Quantitative methods for assessing operational tree risk exposure.
  • Developing a team approach with staff for assessing potential future operational risks.
  • Assessment of tree-related events to refine operational safety.
  • Use of the OSHA 300, 300A, 301 forms to assess individual events and summarize annual events.
  • Forms for assessing past events.
  • Refinements to staff safety guidance.
